Congratulations to CQC²T Chief Investigator Professor Ping Koy Lam, a newly elected Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science in 2020.
Professor Ping Koy Lam FAA is a Quantum physicist based at the Australian National University.
Prof Lam is recognised internationally for his research in secure quantum communications and quantum state generation. He was the first to demonstrate successful end-to-end quantum key distribution and has established a globally recognised web server for quantum random number generation. Based on the research of his group, he co-founded QuintessenceLabs, Australia’s first company that commercialises quantum communication technologies.
Fellows of the Australian Academy of Science are among the nation’s most distinguished scientists, elected by their peers for ground-breaking research and contributions that have had clear impact.
Australian Academy of Science President, Professor John Shine AC, congratulated the new Fellows for making significant and lasting impacts in their scientific disciplines.
“These scientists were elected by their Academy peers following a rigorous evaluation process,” said Professor Shine.
